Blackhawks Test

Dutchmen Captain Connor Cole Takes on the Blackhawks Test

Captain of the 2015/16 Kitchener Dutchmen, Connor Cole is demonstrating the NHL physical exertion test. The Blackhawks test was designed by the Chicago Blackhawks medical staff.

A concussion is an energy deficit. The purpose of the NHL (Chicago Blackhawks) physical exertion test is to exhaust an athlete, draining their energy. The Blackhawks test is a 28 minute, maximum anaerobic interval workout. This test is completed prior to the athlete repeating their baseline assessment. Studies show that 28% of athletes who pass an Impact test, fail if exercised before.
