Orthotics
Plantar fasciitis? Knee pain? Achilles Tendonitis? Bunions? Shin Splints? Imagine what it would feel like if you didn't have to deal with the pain anymore!
What Do Orthotics Do?
Your feet and ankles make up the foundation of your musculoskeletal system. The feet and ankle transfer ground reaction forces to your knees, hips and low back. Improper joint alignment, altered joint range of motion, ligament laxity and overuse injuries can lead to an improper transfer of forces up the body. This results in pain and dysfunction. Orthotics can help reduce these overuse injuries by aligning the joints of your feet, ankles, knees and hips.
What to Expect During Your Orthotic Appointment?
At Sports Rehab and Wellness, every patient is provided with a biomechanical analysis of foot, ankle and knee joint alignment. This information is combined with data from a force plate sensor which detects minuet changes of foot pressure during static balance and dynamic gait (walking). This information is combined with a foam cast of your feet to create custom built orthotics made in a state of the art laboratory, with individual modifications based your needs.
